Later pricing for restaurants: which plan a small cafe actually needs

Later has four plans: Free, Starter, Growth and Scale. For one small cafe or restaurant, the real question is not "which plan has the most features" but "how many posts, accounts and people do we have?" This guide walks through Later's plans using only Later's official pricing page and help center, checked October 3, 2026.

The short answer
  • One location, one person posting, under 30 posts per account each month: Starter ($25/month, or $18.75/month billed yearly) is the plan to look at first.
  • Two people need their own logins, or you want to answer Instagram DMs inside Later: that starts at Growth ($50/month, or $37.50/month billed yearly).
  • Later does not list Google Business Profile among its supported platforms, so you would still post to Google separately.

Later's plans at a glance

These are the standard prices on Later's plans page, in U.S. dollars. Later says taxes are extra, and that yearly billing saves 25% compared with paying monthly.

Later's standard prices: Starter $18.75 / $25, Growth $37.50 / from $50, Scale $82.50 / $110 per month (Later plans page, checked October 3, 2026).

If you pay for a full year, our own arithmetic (before tax) comes to $225 for Starter, $450 for Growth and $990 for Scale. Paying month by month for 12 months would be $300, $600 and $1,320.

Later also offers a 14-day free trial of the paid plans. Its help center says the trial is not available to accounts that have already had a trial or a paid plan.

What a "Social Set" means for a restaurant

Later counts accounts in "Social Sets." One Social Set holds one profile from each platform Later supports: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Snapchat.

For a single restaurant this is good news. One Social Set already covers one Instagram account, one TikTok account and one Facebook Page together. You only need a second Social Set if you run a second Instagram account, for example for a second location or a separate catering brand.

Two things a restaurant might expect are not on that list:

Is 30 posts a month enough?

Starter allows 30 scheduled posts per profile, per month. Later's pricing page explains that the count is per profile, not per Social Set, so 1 Instagram and 1 TikTok account on Starter get 30 posts each.

Two details matter for restaurants:

Here is a simple example. A cafe that schedules 12 Instagram feed posts or Reels and 12 Stories in a month uses 24 of its 30 Instagram posts. That leaves 6 spare. If you post one Story every day, you will hit 30 with Stories alone in a 30-day month, so Growth's 180 per profile would be the safer fit.

Starter: 30 posts per profileExample: one cafe's Instagram, one month12 feed posts or Reels12 Stories6 spareA Story every day = 30 Stories, the whole allowance in a 30-day month
Reels, Stories, carousels and drafts all count toward the monthly total (Later pricing page and help center, checked October 3, 2026). The split shown is an example, not a recommendation.

The Free plan's 12 posts per profile is tight for a restaurant, and Later's plan reference says Free cannot schedule Instagram Stories or carousels at all.

Auto-publish or a reminder on your phone?

Later's pricing page says Auto Publish works for Instagram business and creator accounts, Facebook, TikTok business accounts, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads and Snapchat.

For Instagram and TikTok, Later also offers "notification publishing." Instead of posting for you, Later sends a push notification at the scheduled time, and you finish the post in the Instagram or TikTok app. Later says this is the route to use when you want to add things like music and stickers in the app.

A practical point for restaurants: Later's plan reference says Instagram Stories can only be auto-published for business profiles. If your restaurant's Instagram is a personal account, switching it to a business (or creator) account comes first.

One person or a small team?

Starter includes 1 user, and Later says Starter is limited to 1 user. If the owner and a manager both need their own login, Growth is the first plan that includes 2 users.

Growth also adds things a busy restaurant team may care about:

Where Later's own pages disagree: the pricing page FAQ says you can add extra users "to each paid plan for $5 per additional user," but the same page says Starter is limited to 1 user, and Later's help center lists user add-ons only for Growth and Scale. The pricing page also says extra AI credits are not available on Starter, while the help center's plan reference lists a credit add-on (100 credits for $5 a month) on current paid plans, including Starter. Check Settings > Subscription in Later, or ask Later support, before you count on an add-on.

Basil's tip

On Later, every Reel, Story and draft counts toward the monthly post limit. Count your Stories before you pick Starter.

Who Later is for, and who it is not for

Later is probably not the right fit if:

Summary

For a single small cafe, Later's Starter plan ($25/month, or $18.75/month billed yearly) covers one profile on each supported platform and 30 posts per profile a month. Move to Growth when you need a second user, a shared inbox, or more than 30 posts per account. Whatever plan you pick, Google Business Profile posts stay outside Later.
